CRUELTY
Over the years we have seen a lot of cruelty to birds and animals.
A young pigeon had its legs tied together and was put in a bin in
Sheffield city centre We have had countless birds and animals that have been shot, a kestrel tied to a wire fence upside down by its feet and left to starve, wings clipped then left in the wild unable to fly away from danger. Two collared doves that someone rescued from being run over by boys on bikes. We have had numerous hedgehogs that had been used as footballs, one covered in blue spray paint, it died while at the vets, one had been made to sniff glue, one burnt with cigarettes, the list is endless.
We have had two kittens thrown from a balcony, animals poisoned, and a
call Animal killer strikes again - Fox found mutilated in city
A fox with horrific injuries is believed to be the latest victim of an animal killer terrorising a Sheffield suburb. The animal was found in agony on Valley Road, Heeley with two legs badly hurt, probably as it tore itself free from an illegal gin trap. The animal's injuries were so bad it had to be put down. Police believe the incident might be connected to a spate of suspected cat and dog poisonings in Heeley. (The Star 11 October 2001) VOLUNTARY
